Conditions of participation for events within the scope of CEC Alumni Services
1. Right of withdrawal
If you book the event as a consumer within the meaning of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act (KSchG), you have a legal right of withdrawal within the meaning of the Distance and Foreign Transactions Act (FAGG) within 14 calendar days after registration. This does not apply to events that already begin within these 14 calendar days. The withdrawal must be declared within the mentioned period by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Cancellation by the participant
Cancellations free of charge are possible within 14 days after registration (right of withdrawal), unless the event already starts within this period as agreed. In case of later cancellations or non-participation without cancellation, 100 % of the costs have to be paid. Cancellations must be made in writing via e-mail to email@example.com.
3. Cancellation of the event
There is no legal claim to the realization of the booked event. TU Wien reserves the right to cancel the event for important reasons. Important reasons include, in particular, failure to reach the minimum number of participants, illness of the lecturer at short notice or force majeure. In these cases, the participants will be informed immediately about the cancellation.
4. Organizational changes
TU Wien reserves the right to make necessary organizational changes to the event (e.g. changes to the lecturers or the schedule). In particular, the event may be held in the form of a video conference, if this is reasonable and possible in the specific case. These changes do not entitle the participants to a price reduction or claims for damages.
5. Refund of payments already made
In the cases mentioned above under points 1 to 3, TU Wien will refund payments already made immediately and in full. Compensation for expenses incurred and other claims against TU Wien, such as travel expenses, loss of earnings, travel and/or accommodation expenses, shall not be derived from this, however. The reimbursement will be made by bank transfer to an account to be notified by the participant in writing (by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org).
