For this first physical event since the Austrian Covid19 lock down in March 2020, we invited Ulfert Höhne from OurPower (www.ourpower.coop, opens an external URL in a new window) and Hans Auer from TU Wien (Head of The Energy Markets and Regulation Group) to discuss the future prospects and impediments for decentralized Photovoltaic systems. In recent years the idea of Energy communities has been strongly supported by the European Union. The core idea is to include consumers in their energy supply, especially with respect to electricity and to make the whole system more democratic. One major technology in this context is Photovoltaics as it can be used in every possible size (even very small plants are available) and it can be placed almost everywhere in the built environment.
Amongst the participants of this evening where Alumni and current students of our interdisciplinary MSc program Renewable Energy Systems as well as interested friends of Renewables.
Even though restrictions did not allow for the usual networking and get-together, we were very happy to see, that our community is strong and highly interested in social gatherings!
Energize your future!
