Unique Features

The Automotive Industry in the Central European (CENTROPE) Region is in a constant process of development. A recent survey has revealed that there is a huge demand for a university level postgraduate education program for future managers in the automotive and component supply industry who are able to master challenges of global nature.

TU Wien and the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava have responded with the Professional MBA Automotive Industry, on the initiative of the Vienna Business Agency, by being the first institutions in Europe to meet the demand for a university course for (future) managers within the automotive and component supply industry. Leading experts and top managers from OEMs and component suppliers contributed with their customized requirements for future managers for the development of the program.

The combination of the professors and experts, future-oriented discussions with top managers, close collaboration with the Automotive Industry in the CENTROPE Region, cross-border cooperation and the high level of internationality have led to this successful, unique and practical oriented MBA program for the Automotive Industry.

The EU has also recognized the necessity for a university level education program for the Automotive Industry in the CENTROPE region and as a result it has partially funded the development of the Professional MBA Automotive Industry Program.

Many renown OEMs and suppliers of the Automotive Industry are located in Stuttgart area. Getting deeper insight into the production and logistics process and the realization of the new technologies such as Industry 4.0 a field trip to companies in Stuttgart area is offered. During the site visit mostly Managing Director, or Director of Production & Logistics of the company presents the company and accompanies the plant tour answering questions. After the tour there is a Q&A session to exchanges experience with participants.

Additionally excursions to renown OEM and component supply industry in Austria, Hungary and Slovakia take place. One of the highlights is the on-site lecture at Volkswagen Slovakia. Beside of the lecture and tour at the plant participants have a possibility to see and feel the atmosphere of the company.

 

The MBA program offers participants access to international experts from Austria, Germany, Slovakia and USA. Beside of lectures Business Evenings with Opinionleaders in the automotive industry is organized getting an overview of the current and future trends and challenges in the automotive industry. 

The Automotive Industry needs highly qualified managers with a broad knowledge in management, automotive production and logistics in combination with problem solving and communication skills. Beside the business subjects, Professional MBA Automotive Industry provides deeper insights into the processes of the automotive production & logistics and Industry 4.0 which are key success factors in the automotive industry.

The lectures are conducted exclusively in English by major researchers and experts and are carefully designed to ensure a balanced combination of theory and practice.  The theory lecture  (75%) will be held by Professors and researchers and 25% of lecture will be held by experts from the industry. In all theory lectures automotive industry related cases will be covered. 

 

 

To understand and evaluate the practical implementation of the topics related to the automotive and supply industry automotive industry related case studiens are covered during the lecture by means of group works, games, discusssions and others.
