Dr.-Ing. habil. Rainer Blum

Laboratorium Blum Stuttgart (Germany)

Dr.-Ing. habil. Rainer Blum completed studies in physics in Saarbrücken and Munich, followed by a PhD at the Institute of Construction Materials at the University of Stuttgart. Blum was scientific assistant and assistant professor at the chair of civil engineering at the University of Stuttgart between 1966 and 1979. In 1979, he changed to the Institute of Construction Materials.
Blum wrote his Habilitation on the topic of “A Contribution to the Nonlinear Membrane Theory”.
In 1985 he became Member of the SFB 64 “Lightweight Structures” and one of the founders of SFB 230 “Natural Constructions”. In 1985 he founded the Laboratory of Optics and Dynamics, now known as Labor Blum.
Blum wrote numerous publications and has been involved in many projects around the world.
