Dr. Charles Pearson is Professor of International Economics at the School of Advanced International Studies, The Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC. His publications include ECONOMIC and the GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT (Cambridge University Press), and US TRADE POLICY: A WORK IN PROGRESS (Wiley). He has taught international and environmental economics at a number of universities, including Thammasat (Thailand), Nanjing University (China), the International University of Japan and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. Dr. Pearson’s current research is on the economics of global warming, which he considers to be the major environmental issue of the century.
