Congratulations to our second holder of the VDI Nachrichten scholarship!

Choosing the right person as the future holder of a highly demanded scholarship is never an easy job for the appointed jury. In the end, Sarmad Abdulraheem won the race and convinced the jury consisting of academic director Reinhard Haas (TU Wien), Elisabeth Haslinger (Program Management, CEC TU Wien) and Christina Drochter (Energiepark Bruck/Leitha).

Sarmad Abdulraheem is now the holder of a partial scholarship, awarded in cooperation with VDI Nachrichten. The scholarship represents a partial reduction of the tuition fee in the amount of EUR 9.750,-. Sarmad Abdulraheem will start his Master’s Program of Renewable Energy Systems already the upcoming march. At the moment he is working as an air conditioning technician. He regrets, that the technology used in his business relies mainly on fossil energies, gained from oil reserves.

„My aim is to look at how we can generate more electricity from renewable sources. For example in the Middle East, the sun shines brightly for almost the whole year and can be effectively exploited to generate electricity. This is an expensive step in the beginning in terms of the cost of materials and the installation of solar panels, but it is a necessary step in order to create an environmentally friendly energy source that will balance the effects of the oil reserves beginning to become more scarce in the coming years."

The Continuing Education Center and Energiepark Bruck/Leither congratulate Sarmad Abdulraheem to the scholarship. We are looking forward to welcome him as an attendee of the next class of the Master’s Program!
