Grant of 50%-scholarship “Emerging Markets” 2012 for General Management MBA

Lucky winners are from Slovakia and Iran

It is a matter of concern of Vienna University of Technology and Danube University Krems to award one scholarship for qualified persons originated in “Emerging Markets”. This specialised grant will give individuals the possibility to get further academic education, to perfect their knowledge in the German language and to achieve intercultural social skills in order to get well-trained managers. By granting this scholarship both universities support the education of excellent managers from especially Eastern and South-eastern European countries.

This year the 50%-scholarships “Emerging Markets” for the General Management MBA Program were announced again for graduates from CEE. The jury which consists of representatives from both co-operation partners of the General Management MBA Program awarded the two scholarships in the amount of EUR € 10.450,-  each unanimously to Dipl.-Ing. Arash Tootoonchi and Martin Kalab, BA.

Arash Tootooshi was born in Iran an has been studying Civil Engineering at TU Vienna. For several years he is workling as an civil engineer. As he plans to get a job as project manager at a big construction company, he needs profound managerial skills to be prepared for such a kind of job.

The second winner of a 50%-scholarhip is Martin Kalab. He is an alumni of University Vienna an has been studying International Development. In order to get new career opportunities he needs management skills, especially in sales management sector, where he has already been working during his years of study.

For both scholarship holders it is very important to archieve professional knowledge in business administration and law in order to foster their careers. Furthermore both are looking forward to exchanging their professional experiences with the other attendees of the program.
