Congratulation to the winners of the 2018 „Die Presse“ scholarship for the MSc ETIA Program

Since 2016 the daily Viennese newspaper “Die Presse” awards two scholarships, this year in the amount of EUR 12,900 for students of the MSc Program „Environmental Technology and International Affairs“. For this cohort Brigitte Gerstmann and Christina Huber have been chosen by the jury.

The awarding took place on May 15, 2018 at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in the presence of  Mag. Christian Ultsch  (Die Presse), Prof. Dr. Hans Puxbaum (TU Wien), Prof. Dr. Gerhard Loibl (Diplomatic Academy), Dr. Susanne Keppler-Schlesinger (Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy) and of course the two happy winners.

Brigitte Gerstmann, MSc Graduate of Environmental Geosciences at the University of Vienna, stated that the ETIA program „combines my passion for natural sciences and my interest in international matters. The upcoming two years will equip me with the professional tools to address environmental problems of global concern and develop sustainable solutions.“

"I am very grateful that „Die Presse“ has chosen me as one of the recipients for this year’s MSc ETIA scholarships. I look forward to learning all I can from this special interdisciplinary Master’s program and to live up to the expectations put in me", said Christina Huber, who has a degree in International Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

This MSc Program was installed in 2007 as a unique cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and TU Wien. Graduates of technical studies are supposed to get an overview about the political and legal frame of environmental technology, whereas lawyers, economists and graduates from other studies should get acquainted with the technical basics (focus on air, water and waste as well as energy, climate and sustainable development).

Late application for the ETIA12 Program, starting in September 2018 is still possible.
