For the first time, the Alumni Club of the TU Wien, the Platform 4.0 and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ) awarded the "PINT - Prize for Innovation and Technology" for honoring the achievements of students, alumni and start-ups, who demonstrate the positive effects of digitization, especially for Austria as a business location.

With his master’s thesis "Facility Management 4.0: BIM and IoT as a basis for the digital twin in building operation", Patrick Jaritz, an alumnus of the Professional MBA Facility Management Program, received the third prize.

In his master’s thesis, Jaritz analyzed the origin of the concept of the digital twin, how it is put to use in other areas and how it could be used in facility management. Always taking into account BIM (Building Information Modeling) and IoT (Internet of Things), the thesis reflected upon whether the technological readiness, the possibilities of connection and the procedural requirements are available in order to apply the concept of the digital twin in a facility context.

The Continuing Education Center of the TU Vienna congratulates him to his excellent work!
