Our partner Energiepark Bruck / Leitha at sustainability fair

The "Higher Education Institute for the Environment and the Economy" is regarded as a school of sustainability, anchored in the mission statement "The future should not be foreseen, but made possible" (Antoine De Saint-Exupery).

Interested young people are offered two branches of training: environment and economics or water and communal services (http://cms.hluwyspertal.ac.at/hluwweb/)

Following the success last year, the second sustainability fair took place on May 18th, 2019 at the HLUW  Yspertal. The aim of this fair is not just to make sustainability a buzzword, but to inform about regional, ecological or socially responsible products, services, organizations and companies. Visitors were presented with a variety of sustainable, fair, regional exhibitors and entrepreneurs.

In addition to innovative, environmental-analytical and environmental exhibitors such as the company SonoMotors from Germany (solar powered vehicles), there was a wide range of lectures on sustainability. DI Karin Mottl, MSc of the Bruck / Leitha Energy Park was also invited to give a lecture on the possibilities for the regional energy transition as well as training and further education opportunities through the MSc "Renewable Energy Systems".

In the ensuing discussion, the topic of energy self-sufficiency based on renewables in Austria was discussed, as well as the time when it could be reached - opinions ranged from the year 2050 to 2100.
