Take-off for the fourth class of the MSc Program ETIA

Program started with Welcome Reception at TU Vienna

The welcome reception of the fourth start of the postgraduate MSc Program took place in a familiar atmosphere at the Vienna University of Technology in the evening of September 29th, 2010. The participants of the third class (starting their second academic year at TU Vienna) and of course the “new” participants as well as representatives of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology participated in this reception.

The Academic Director of the Vienna University of Technology, Prof. Hans Puxbaum gave a warm welcome to all new students coming from Brazil, USA, Belgium, Georgia, Eastern Europe (Slovakia, Slovenia and Czech Republic), Germany, Austria and even Australia and the Philippines. After some general information he highlighted the importance of environmental studies for the future.
Prof. Gerhard Loibl (Academic Director, DA Vienna) refered to the Academic Advising. On this occasion he had already met and talked to every student. He encouraged the group to spend enough time on studying as this program really is quite challenging.
In his enthousiastic speech, Prof. Christoph Scharff, CEO of ARA AG presented the ARA Best Study Award which is granted on the occasion of the graduation to the student with the best academic performance throughout the two academic years.
There was enough time for the Academic Directors and the Program Manager to answer questions. The following get-together at the buffet allowed the personal contact between the student-body of the two classes and the representatives of DA Vienna and TU Vienna.
