New visions for the future: graduation of the course “Executive Management for Engineers”

On November 28, 2011 the graduation of the program “Executive Management for Engineers” took place at the Vienna University of Technology. The Continuing Education Center (Vienna UT) congratulated the new alumni in a festive ceremony.

First, Dr. Paul Jankowitsch, Vice-Rector of the Vienna UT cordially welcomed the graduates and their guests. Afterwards, the academic director em.O.Univ.Prof. Dr. Adolf Stepan emphasized the importance of management skills for engineers in his welcoming words.

In his festive speech, Dr. Christian Wolf pointed out what is important in order to be a good CEO. Apart from flexibility, a sense of responsibility and experience, one needs a sound education. As a result of technical know-how engineers very often move up the ladder in a company. But then they soon recognize that fortune favours fools. Management training guarantees that good decisions are based on knowledge and not on fortune.

At the end of the ceremony a representative of the alumni gave his personal review of the last few months.  Dipl.-Ing. Georg Holzer underlined the excellent faculty and the good combination of the lectures. One headnote was to “Offer people a vision”. “You gave us a new vision” were the closing words of Mr. Holzer.

The Continuing Education Center of the TU Vienna cordially congratulates the alumni of the program “Executive Management for Engineers”:
