Johannes Linneborn Award goes to Hermann Hofbauer

On June 18, 2012 Hermann Hofbauer was awarded with the Johannes Linneborn Award, the most important private award in the field of biomass research in Europe.

Hermann Hofbauer got this award at the European Biomass Conference in Milan for more than 30 years research work focussed on fluidized bed technology. He developed several technologies using various renewable energy sources.

Hermann Hofbauer studied Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology and is university professor since 1997. Currently he also is Study Dean for Process Engineering and Chair oft he Instutute of Chemical Engineering at TU Vienna. Until recently he was faculty member of the postgraduate MSc program „Renewable Energy in Central & Eastern Europe“. His lectures dealt with „Plant engineering for thermal biomass utilization“.
