Welcome Reception - Professional MBA Automotive Industry

With the welcome reception on October 3, 2012 the fourth program of the in Europe unique and FIBAA accredited Professional MBA Automotive Industry started successfully with participants from 8 different countries (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Russia, and Slovakia). The participants are working at OEMs, Suppliers, and also insurance company.

Prof. Dr. Bob Martens, Dean of Academic Affairs for Continuing Education of the Vienna University of Technology opened the ceremony with his welcome address about the importance of the continuing education and efforts providing an excellent continuing education programs. He encouraged the participants to give efforts to complete this unique program successfully.

The Vice Rector for Education of the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava, Assoc.Prof.Ing. Frantisek Hornak, PhD also welcomed the students and guests and spoke about research activities of the STU and the excellent co-operation between two universities.

Prof. Dr. Wilfried Sihn, the academic director of the Vienna University of Technology spoke about the great need on the highly qualified managers in the automotive industry in Central European Region. The production capacity of this region with 14 automotive factories and more than 120 Tier 1 suppliers is bigger than that of Detroit area. In his speech he mentioned the specials and highlights of the program for examples, excursions and on-site lectures at major automotive companies, business evenings with opinion leaders, etc. which the participants will have during their study. He introduced each participant in person.

Prof. Dr. Jan Lesinsky, the academic director of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava introduced the content and structure of the program. The program is the first program for the education of managers in the automotive industry and a cross-border program with important intercultural aspects and modules in Austria and Slovakia.

The team of CEC/TU Vienna and STU Bratislava wishes all their students good luck for the upcoming four semesters.
