Six days „under the sun“ - Excursion to PV plant Cakany (SK)

Class 2012-14 in Cakany (SK)

Students of the MSc Program “Renewable Energy in Central & Eastern Europe” at Module 3 “Solar Energy - Solar Heating & Photovoltaics”

Six days “under the sun” – From April 08-14, 2013 Class 2012-2014 of the MSc program “Renewable Energy in Central & Eastern Europe” had a quite interesting but intensive week in Bruck/Leitha in the matter of Photovoltaics and Solar Heating.

The lectures of Hubert Fechner (PV) and Werner Weiss (Solar Heating) were top class. Their expertise was phenomenal. On Wednesday, the group had the possibility to visit the nearly 1MW PV plant in Cakany (SK), where Karol Galek (Energiepark employee, and graduate of Class of 2006-08) explained, how this plant has been built and how it is operated.

The PV plant Cakany was planned in 2009 by Energiepark Bruck/Leitha, the cooperation partner of TU Vienna within the scope of this MSc program. In November 2010 the PV plant was implemented.

Details on the PV plant Cakany you´ll find here >> (available in German)
