Guidelines for sustainable facility management

klima:aktiv and Facility Management Austria publish guidelines for sustainable facility management

Resource-efficient construction and renovation represent a focus of facility management.  To provide companies with a compact and above all practical reference to the hand, the initiate of the Austrian life ministry in cooperation with the Facility Management Austria (FMA) released the “Guidelines for sustainable facility  management in the operational and usage phase”.

This enables companies to not just increase their environmental friendliness but also reduce their own operating costs and increase the quality of their own working environment. Margot Grim, shareholder of the e7 Energy Marked Analysis GmbH which gave the FMA advice and support, also explains that “the guidelines pay attention to ecology, economy and the user”.

In contrast to other guidelines and standards Grim empathizes the practical benefits of these guidelines especially by the included “detailed procedures and checklists specified to facility managers, customers and users while this subject is only broached in many other guidelines”.

The guidelines represent a supportive tool for the implementation of sustainability in the phase of operation and use and are now available for download.
