Coordinated and holistic facility management

The EN 15221 was developed with significant Austrian participation

A well-coordinated and holistic management of all necessary processes is needed to ensure the effective implementation of facility management.  So far, a tool for a uniform assessment of performance and efficiency was missing. As in many other areas the method of benchmarking, the comparison with other organizations, has been applied to facility management – but with various methods and occasionally less meaningful results.

Part 7 of the ÖNORM EN 15221 provides a remedy and offers guidelines for a unified performance benchmarking in facility management.  The focus is on the simplification of benchmarking and a precise definition of objectives. In conjunction with other documents of the series experts see the ÖNORM EN 15221 as an important step to fill gaps and remove irregularities in the assessment of the results of facility management.

Each facility manager is faced with normative regulations in his work. If you want to be up-to-date on current developments in the field of FM, find out more about the Professional MBA Facility Management.  The next possibility to take part in the program ist in March 2014.
