Emerging Markets-Scholarship for innovative Msc Program “Renewable Energy in Central & Eastern Europe”

The Continuing Education Center and Energiepark Bruck/Leitha support emerging markets in SEE/CEE-countries.

The MSc program “Renewable Energy in Central & Eastern Europe” is the first cross-border course in Austria dealing with the future issues of alternative energy. The interdisciplinary part-time program is offered by the Continuing Education Center (Vienna University of Technology) in cooperation with Energiepark Bruck/Leitha.

To enable citizens from emerging markets countries to join in this MSc program, the cooperation partners have awarded two scholarships to participants from CEE/SEE countries. The jury consisted of Univ.Prof. Dr. Reinhard Haas (Academic Director, TU Vienna), Dipl.-Ing. Karin Mottl (Energiepark Bruck/Leitha) and Dipl.-Ing. Andrea Würz (Continuing Education Center).

Finally the scholarships in the amount of EUR 6,500 each were awarded to Atanas Atanassov, BSc and Dipl.-Ing. Anton Birindjiev.

Atanas Atanassov (37) is Bulgarian and studied „Machine Building Engineering and Technologies“ at Ruse University (BG). Based on his technical background he wants to acquire economic and legal knowledge at this MSc program and to switch tot he renewable energy sector.

Anton Birindjiev (44) is Bulgarian, too and studied „Automation and Control Technology“ at the Technical University of Sofia (BG). He worked at Trane Cooling and Heating Systems GmbH as project manager. The program will give him the opportunity to obtain deep and comprehensive knowledge of the technological field and will allow him to be responsible for and act as a planner, project manager and/or consultant in a company.

Both holders of the scholarships are looking forward to their new colleagues, they will know at the Welcome Reception on October 3, 2013. We wish them all the best!
