6th IFM-Congress at the Vienna University of Technology

Science meets Practice

For the sixth time, the IFM Congress took place on November 28 and 29, 2013 at the Vienna University of Technology. Under the theme “Science meets Praxis” current trends in research and best practices in Facility Management from companies were discussed.

The first day was dedicated to lectures from the practical side and case studies such as why FM is important for the Vienna International Airport or the importance of risk management in management. Another session discussed integrative planning and building information modelling. The first day concluded with a keynote by Uwe Ehrismann, CEFA (Senior Economist, Hypo NOE Gruppe) on the world.

The second day focused on scientific research about FM-related issues after a discussion round on current trends in FM.

We look forward to the 7th IFM Congress which will be organized by the IFM-Institute and Professor Alexander Redlein in November 2014.

Prof. Alexander Redlein is also Academic Director of the Professional MBA Facility Management offered by the Vienna University of Technology. The next class will start in March 2014. Further information on this program can be found at fm.tuwien.ac.at.
