Evening Lecture “Nature & Numbers”

The Continuing Education Center invites to the evening lecture on “Nature & Numbers” organized within the MEng Membrane Lightweight Structures.

Professor Georg Glaeser is Professor of Mathematics and Geometry at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
For years he is has been trying to find new approaches to spark peoples’ interest in mathematics. His motto is: observing and understanding nature through mathematical-geometrical eyes. A camera is one important tool for this purpose. He photographs animals and plants, as well as natural phenomena. In his lecture Prof. Glaeser will try to answer rather unusual questions such as what do a zebra, a tiger shark, and a hard coral have in common?

The evening lecture “Nature and Numbers” will take place on: Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 6.30 pm at the Vienna University of Technology.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at this event. Please register at mls(at)tuwien.ac.at.
