Two 1/3-Scholarships for NGOs (from CEE/SEE with Emerging Markets) awarded

Energize your future!

The Vienna University of Technology and Energiepark Bruck/Leitha support the high-quality MSc Program “Renewable Energy in Central & Eastern Europe” and award scholarships to participants working at an NGO. Applicants from CEE/SEE countries are preferred. The objective is to facilitate the access to the MSc program and to enable a better academic qualification in the field of “Renewable Energies”.

The jury – consisting of the Academic Director and representatives of the two cooperation partners – declared the winners of the scholarships 2014: Tonilyn Lim and Gentjan Sema. The grant was in the amount of EUR 6,500 each.

Tonilyn Lim finished her studies with a Master of Environmental Management at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines and the University of San Francisco. First she got a BSc in Chemistry. She works at UNIDO as an Industrial Development Officer. She expects the MSc program to turn her into a renewable energy expert, and to establish an adequate network with the academic, professional and business world that is active in the field.

Gentjan Sema first finished his Bachelor degree in Political Sciences and International Relations at the University of Bolony (Italy), followed by a Master of Advanced International Studies at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. He currently works for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization as a Consultant/Project Assistant. He will hope to learn more about the „nuts and bolts“ of renewable energy generation. This will allow him to advance his professional development and eventually become a specialist in this field one day.

We wish them all the best and a good start in the MSc program on October 23!
