Oliver Thomaschewski was honored for his remarkable thesis

Each year the most outstanding master’s theses of a graduating Professional MBA Entrepreneurship & Innovation class are nominated for the Best Thesis Award. For the class 2012 - 2014 the following pieces of work were selected:

•    Tsvetoslava Kyoseva, MBA: “Research on disruptive innovations as a driving factor for the economic development of a telecommunication operator
•    Vera Mayer, BA, MBA: “Emotional Fashion E-Commerce - Factors influencing a positive Shopping Experience
•    Dr. Corneliu Catalin Neacsu, MBA:Mass Innovation. A competitive strategy for High-Tech B2B SMEs”
•    Dipl.Ing. Oliver Sascha Thomaschewski, MBA: “3D Printing, Strategies for established Industries to cope with the Disruptive Technology

The jury consisting of the Academic Directors of the program – Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and Prof. Dr. Sabine T. Köszegi – finally selected Mr. Oliver Thomaschewski as prize winner.

In his master’s thesis he deals with the question what incumbent companies can do, to response on radical innovations, to find themselves suddenly out of business to find having valueless assets and knowledge, which provided great margins for years?  As the character of an innovation is always relative to the innovation, market and business model, the thesis deals with the emerging technology of 3D printing potentially hitting the incumbent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) market player Lufthansa Technik LHT on its home turf.
