Scholarship for NGOs awarded

Energize your future!

The TU Wien and Energiepark Bruck/Leitha support the high-quality MSc Program “Renewable Energy in Central & Eastern Europe” and a scholarship to participants working at an NGO. Applicants from CEE/SEE countries are preferred. The objective is to facilitate the access to the MSc program and to enable a better academic qualification in the field of “Renewable Energies”. In case of no eligible candidates from CEE/SEE countries, the scholarship will be awarded to NGO employees from other countries. And that was the case this year.

The jury – consisting of the Academic Director, Reinhard Haas, and representatives of the two cooperation partners, Karin Mottl and Andrea Würz – awarded the scholarship in the amount of EUR 6,500 to Jinsum Lim.

Jinsun Lim did her Bachelor in Political Science and International Relations “cum laude” at the Seoul National University in Korea. In the scope of several exchange semesters at Osaka University (Japan), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) and Peking University (China), as well as attending a language program at Zaragoza University (Spain) she was able to gain a lot of international experience. She finished her Double Degree Master “Public Policy & International Studies” – as well “cum laude” - at Seoul National University (Korea) and University of Tokyo (Japan).

The 27-year-old Korean is working as Junior Professional Associate in the UN SE4All (United Nations Sustainable for All) and has very precise career objectives: “I would like to work for universal access to affordable, sustainable and reliable energy supply. To achieve this goal, the rapid growth of renewable energy share in the energy mix of developing countries is essential. I would like to dedicate myself to the goal, promoting use of renewable energy, encouraging public and private investment to renewable energy sector and supporting dissemination of relevant technologies.”

We wish Miss Lim all the best and a good start in the MSc program on October 15!
