Start of a new series of ETIA Talks on Climate Change

The first ETIAtalks panel discussion of this year’s series on “Climate Change” will take place on November 27, 2015 at 18:30h in the Festsaal at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. For the detailed program please click HERE.

ETIAtalks, an initiative of the students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology (TU), provides a forum to explore the technological context of current issues in the fields of energy and environment. ETIAtalks sets a special focus on their relation to international politics, law, and economics.

This panel discussion aims to critically debate and evaluate the 2°C Climate Goal and the expectations of policymakers at the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) in December. A strong agreement comes with urgency as natural disasters are already more frequent and intense, and island states are threatening to sink beneath the rising sea level.

Speakers include Stephan Sicars, Director of Environment Branch, UNIDO, Renate Christ, previous Director of the IPCC Secretariat, Johannes Wahlmüller, Climate and Energy Spokesperson, GLOBAL 2000, Helga Kromp-Kolb, Head of Center for Global Change and Sustainability, BOKU Institute of Meteorology.

The panel discussion will be followed by an interactive Q&A. For updates on our panelists and the program please have a look at our website.
