Slovak mayors visit Energiepark Bruck/Leitha


On Thursday May 18, a group of Slovak mayors visited Energiepark Bruck/Leitha. Their goal: to gain expertise in the field regional self-sufficiency and Implementiation of renewable energy systems. Previous to their stay in Bruck/Leitha they visited Austria’s first self-supporting strawbale house in Margarethen/Moos. At the Energiepark, they learned about the development of Energiepark in the last 20 years and its special characteristics. Furthermore, they discussed possibilities and tipps and tricks for the implementation of renewable energy in East-Slovakia. In an interactive conversation afterwards, questions about political structures, civic participation and the necessary knowledge transfer, that the MSc Renewable Energy Systems can provide.

Ms. Shruti Athavale,MSc, scientist at the Austrian Energy Agency, explained the conditions and development opportunities in Central and Eastern Europa. After this interesting presentations and inputs the group stayed overnight in Bruck/Leitha to visit the final highlight on the next day – the wind park „1er-Anlage Bruck/Leitha“. The excursion ended on the 60 meters high observation platform of the windpark with a spectacular view.

The MSc Renewable Energy Systems is offered by TU Wien in cooperation with Energiepark Bruck/Leitha and will start for the 14th time.
