Welcome Reception for the MSc Environmental Technology and International Affairs/ETIA class 2017-2019

In the evening of October 10, 2017, the 22 new participants of ETIA11 got to know their fellow students of the tenth cohort (starting their second academic year at TU Wien) on the occasion of the Welcome Reception which took place at the Diplomatic Academy. This year with 36% internationalen participants (Bangladesh, Kasachstan, Mexico, Russian Federation and USA) and –  following the trend - 77% female students. As usual, representatives of the Diplomatic Academy and TU Wien participated in this reception in familiar atmosphere.


The new director of the Diplomatic Academy, Ambassador Dr. Emil Brix welcomed all students and representatives and mentioned that he was very happy about this unique cooperation program offered by two prestigious institutions.


Prof. Bob Martens, Vice Director of the CEC at TU Wien highlightened the quality assurance guaranteed by TU Wien and appealed to students to stick to the academic deadlines.
Prof. Hans Puxbaum, Academic Director of ETIA at TU Wien pointed out the MSc program´s goal of understanding different views on environmental issues. Finally, Prof. Christoph Scharff, CEO of ARA AG congratulated all students to their choice for this challenging program and presented the ARA Best Study Award.


The following get-together at the buffet deepened the contact between the student-body of the two classes and the representatives of DA Vienna, TU Wien and ARA AG.
