Energiepark Bruck/Leitha welcomes the new students

On Monday the 15th of January, the students of the 14th cohort of the MSc program Renewable Energy Systems had their first lecture at our partner organisation the Energiepark in Bruck. They all arrived safely and were greeted by Karin Mottl and Christina Drochter with a welcome package which consisted of a booklet with all the necessary information about their stay and some healthy snacks.

After a brief welcome speech, they started their first lecture of the Module 2, Biomass, Biogas & Biofuels. An intensive week full of lectures combined with practice-oriented excursions is ahead of them. On Tuesday they will hear from Dr. Mario Ortner from the iC projects Project Development and Trading GmbH about Fundamentals of thermal biomass utilization. Dr. Ortner will show them around the Energiepark Bruck’s woodchip-fired district heating plant, in order to better understand the knowledge they acquired in their lectures.

On Wednesday a visit to a local winery is planned. There the students will get a glimpse into the work of a winery and after we will have a tasting of some wines with some cold cuts as well. This way they can get to know the culinary side of Bruck an der Leitha’s region.
We hope they will enjoy their time here!
