The future of renewables in the energy sector: Interview with Prof. Reinhard Haas, Academic Director of the MSc Renewable Energy Systems

To ensure a sustainable energy supply is one of the major challenges of our time. In the last decade the share of renewable energy sources has increased significantly. In the foreseeable future, this trend will continue. This presents the energy sector with major challenges: decentralisation, digitalisation and democratisation are lasting changes to the energy sector.

Thus, TU Wien offers in cooperation with Energiepark Bruck/Leitha the MSc Renewable Energy Systems which prepares for these challenges in the energy sector.

What are challenges in the energy sector of the future?

Prof. Reinhard Haas, Academic Director of the MSc Renewable Energy Systems answers questions, like which major developments are expected in the near future due to the transformation of the energy sector? What are the major challenges for the energy sector in regard to those developments? How does the MSc Renewable Energy Systems prepare for those challenges? And what measures do we have to take to achieve energy systems with energy entirely generated from renewables.
