Congratulations to Energiepark Bruck/Leitha for winning the Energy Globe Lower Austria 2018

The Energie Park Bruck/Leitha, our partner in the MSc Renewable Energy Systems, wins the Energy Globe Lower Austria 2018 in the categorie Youth for their youth summer camp "Feuer und Flamme".

This year’s Energy Globe ceremony, where lower austria’s best environment projects are awarded, was held in the vocational school for agriculture in Tulln. With over 40 high quality and innovative projects, from many different fields of work, the decision of choosing a winner was not easy.

The Energiepark Bruck/Leitha took part in the competition, in the category youth work, with its summer camp “Feuer und Flamme”.With 12 nominations it had the most amongst all other categories. During the camp the children were introduced to the topic “heating and warmth” with the help of the authentic and functioning thermal heating facility in the roman city Carnuntum. This ancient heating system, combined with the heating technologies of the present, brought the kids closer to understanding the matter. A short workshop about the basics, experiments, educational films, interactive games about the topic and an excursion to the Petronell meadow were all part of the camp’s fun filled schedule.

After waiting with excitement, the team of the Energiepark was extremely happy after their camp was awarded the first place in its category! One of last year’s camp attendees, Florian Taferner was also there. He, his mother, youth consultant Gerti Taferner, and project leader Mag. (FH) Norbert Koller, MSc went on stage to proudly receive the award.

The summer camp “Feuer & Flamme” was a part of the LEADER-project “EnergieReiches Römerland Carnuntum” and was organized in cooperation with youth advisers and the roman city Carnuntum.

We wholeheartedly congratulate Energiepark Bruck/Leitha!
