Congratulations to the winner of the VDI Nachrichten Scholarship!

TU Wien and Energiepark Bruck/Leitha awarded the first scholarship for engineers in cooperation with VDI Nachrichten for the MSc Renewable Energy Systems.

In the interview, Joseph Distefano convinced the jury – consisting of the Academic Director, Reinhard Haas, and representatives of the two cooperation partners, Karin Mottl (Managing Director Energiepark Bruck/Leitha), Christina Drochter (Energiepark Bruck/Leitha) and Elisabeth Haslinger (CEC TU Wien).

Joseph Distefano about his decision to apply for the MSc Renewable Energy Systems:
"I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University, and I worked for nearly ten years at Boeing Flight Test in Seattle where I became the technical lead for a project to modernize data systems used to test and certify airplanes such as the 737 MAX. Although Boeing was a great place to work, I felt my true calling was to tackle some of the enormous challenges facing our planet in energy accessibility and sustainability. The MSc Renewable Energy Systems at TU Wien, with its comprehensive coverage of various energy technologies, was just what I was looking for to prepare for this exciting, new career. My goal is to one day join an international organization doing research and working with policymakers on energy development plans for a sustainable future."

We wish Mr. Distefano all the best and a good start in the MSc program on November 15!
