Overview


The Continuing Education Center of TU Wien and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), Vienna offer a Master of Science (MSc) in Economics. The joint MSc is a rigorous, quantitative education and equips graduates with the advanced tools to undertake a research career in economics. Consistent with this goal, the MSc Economics is aimed at highly talented individuals, who have an outstanding academic record during their previous university studies.

The MSc Economics Program combines advanced mathematics with economic theory to give students a state-of-the-art education as well as knowledge of recent tools and trends in quantitative economics.

Target Group

This graduate program is chiefly aimed at students who wish ultimately to receive a PhD and who aspire to research career in economics. After graduation, the participants in the MSc possess a broad knowledge of advanced economics and mathematics, an education that serves as a preparation for admission to leading PhD programs around the world.

Admission Requirements

Admitted students must hold an internationally accepted academic first degree. This includes all Austrian academic degrees, such as the Bachelor and Master (Magister) degrees, or the equivalent academic degree from a foreign university.
